2022 Unit Elections

Curious of how the 2022 Unit Elections will look and what the membership requirements will look like? Below you will find everything you need to know!

Requirements to Hold an Election:

For a valid Unit election to take place, the following requirements must be meant during the election.

  • 50% of the Registered youth (21 and under) of the Unit must be present

For the year of 2022, Black Hawk Lodge will not be offering Unit Elections during the time of Summer Camp. The deadline to have an election done by is May 31st.

During Summer, Scouts want to have fun, enjoy the activities, relax after a hard day of merit badge classes, enjoy there meals, but they do not want to sit there and a Unit Election preformed in their free time.

Even though Summer Camp may be the time that your Unit will have the most Scouts together to preform an election, there are ways to get them together prior to camp. With a date, plenty of notice, and communication, one could easily get their Unit together for an Election.

A Unit Election also give a good reason to have high attendance at the meeting from both the youth Scouts as well as their parents. This allows the opportunity to communicate any other vital information to them and get them up to date.

In order to schedule an election, you can do so today by filling out this form.

Requirements to be Elected during an Election:

In order for a Scout to be considered a Candidate for Ordeal following the Election, the following vote requirements must be meant.

If the Unit Committee would like to nominate the current Serving Unit Leader, they will not be counted towards the total number of Adults (this does not include Assistant Unit Leaders).

0 Youth Elected = 0 Adults Nominated

1 Youth Elected = 1 Adult Nominated

2 Youth Elected = 1 Adult Nominated
