Pow-Wow

Black Hawk Lodge's Pow-Wow event was introduced in the summer of 2016. This evening program is a program completely organized and operated by Black Hawk Lodge. This summer camp evening program is every Monday night at both Saukenauk Scout Reservation and Camp Eastman.

The Pow-Wow program was designed by the 2016 LEC to introduce the Order of the Arrow's rich Native American history to the campers of the Mississippi Valley Council. There are various activities and games each week for all of summer camp to enjoy. Some of the activities include but are not limited to: Native American drumming and dancing, tomahawk throwing, axe throwing, atlatl throwing, Native American regalia displays and explanations, and more. The lodge also opens up the bouldering wall at the climbing tower at SSR, has merchandise available for purchase, and has a branding station available where campers can brand water bottles, leather goods, etc.
